Single Sign On (SSO) Failing Logins for Many U-M Services

Start Time: 10/26/2020 8:40 am Issue Symptoms: Outage Login to many U-M systems is failing, due to an apparent issue with Shibboleth. This impacts services like Wolverine Access, U-M Box, U-M Google, TeamDynamix, and others. Technicians are currently investigating Who is Impacted? Faculty, Staff, Students, and all others logging into many U-M Systems

[Update 10/26/20 9:30am] Per ITS in Ann Arbor: "A Shibboleth infrastructure upgrade happened over the weekend. Load testing was insufficient, and the Monday morning traffic/load overwhelmed the new/upgraded system. The IAM Operations team rolled back the upgrade to use the old servers, and this restored all services.

The IAM team will be performing additional configuration changes and more load testing before re-deploying the upgrade at some point in the future."
